MUZI HISTORY

This elegant residence of Piazza San Nicola (Market Square), dates from the Eighteenth Century. It’s without doubt one of the most beautiful buildings in the town. Probably it was built on the site of the ancient wall of Castrignano del Capo. Of that era remain, still well preserved, elements to defense against external dangers from outside. It’s located at 3 km. from Leuca Harbor and a few kilometers from the sandy beaches of the coast Jonico.
For over two centuries, it was the home of the Trani family, which boasted some feuds in the area. From Trani passed to Ferrari family, Dukes of Parabita, and then to Muzi. "Vox populi" is that this residence gave hospitality to Joseph Bonaparte in 1807, fleeing from Naples to Greece.
The current owner wanted to renovate the building and the adjacent garden in the manner of a small and particular residence.
